7 Reasons Why You Should Visit Jamaica

Baby don't worry about a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright. - Bob Marley

1 The “No problem” vibe
What you expect from a Jamaican is exactly what you will get! They are friendly, happy and easy going people. Nothing is a problem for them only situations. If you are living a stressful life then you deserve to have a week in this peaceful paradise.  We traveled last month in September 2017 but also in September in 2016, just as hurricane Matthew's was getting close and not one moment anyone looked worried. When we asked  the bartender about it, he simply smiled while passing us another drink calmly sayin "No problem mon, only situation."

Beautiful scenery

Honestly there’s not much to add to that. An image is worth more than a 1000 words. I strongly suggest visiting the beach of Negril which is the best in Jamaica. The sparkling white sand brushing up against your feet has to be one of the most amazing feelings. Of course if you go you have to visit Dunn's river falls, which is a classic stop for tourists or at least the Konoko falls. The blue hole is also an amazing place to visit..

P.S. Knowing how to swim is always helpful.

3 Awesome entertainment
The beach activities and the night entertainments won’t disappoint you. They will make sure to include everyone and they will even remember your name!

4 Vibrant music
If you never heard of Bob Marley you must have been sleeping under a rock. If you are interrested about Bob Marley and his lifestyle and of course his music you should visit Bob Marley's house.

5 Tasty food
The local food is delicious and very different from what we are use to in North America. Even for me who is from the Caribbean, The famous jerk chicken is not famous for nothing. The marinated and tender chicken is rich in flavour and delicious spices. My husband also really enjoyed the pork version of that dish. You won’t be disappointed. If you decide to go on a resort you should also try their "A la Carte" restaurants. They are nailing the Italian, Japenese and Parisian cuisine. The Drink I'm showing you here, is called a Bob Marley by the way; Delicious and refreshing.

6 Easy communication
When I compare my trips to Jamaica to my previous ones in other countries. I must say that what I prefer is how easy to ask where the bathroom is located. I know, it sounds pretty ridiculous, right? However, I promise when you bladder is about to explode you will remember reading this.

On a more serious note, it’s very pleasant experience getting to know the local people. By the way a resort in Jamaica is not Jamaica. Try to go out if it's possible.

7 Jamaicans are very talented

The amount of talent we saw in one week blew our minds. There’s not one Jamaica who can’t either sing or dance. They will definitely impress you with their interpretations and their acting skills.

My 6 Travel Essentials

Traveling has to be my favorite thing to do. Seeing the world, meeting new people, tasting new delicious food. (personally my favorite part, which explain my few extra pounds) and obviously learning new things. Here are my 5 favorites things to travel with that totally improved my travelling experience.

1- Dansel Emergency Kit

Ok, with this one I'm cheating a little. This little pre-made travel kit includes over 24 essentials. A compact mirror, a shower car, elastic for your hait, deodorant wipes. nail polish remover. a sleeping mask for your eyes, ear buds and much more. It comes in this adorable little bag.

2- Waterproof Cellphone Case

This thing has to be my favorite discovery of 2016. It looks like a cheap ziplock bag but believe me it does exactly what it suppose to do. So you can bring your phone in the pool, the beach, or while snorkeling. The best thing ever, get your now!

3 - Download a season of your favorite Netflix series on your tablet or or laptop.

In case of a rainy day, if you can't sleep one night, for the time you will be at the airport or on the plane. It will save you from any dull moment. Here are a few of favorite shows on netflix at the moment:

  • Mr. D
  • The Mindy Project
  • Brooklyn 99
  • How to get away with murder

4- An empty bottle of water

You should think about bringing an empty bottle of water that you simply refill after you pass security. Save those coins honey!

5- Drop Box or iCloud

Enable the function on your phone in order to back up your videos and photos automatically to your Dropbox account before you delete and free up space. This way you’ll always have space to capture that next epic moment on your trip!

6- Portable Battery for your phone.

Is there anything more annoying than not being able to capture important moments because your phone is dead. A portable charger will allow you to boost your phone’s battery life maybe 2 to 3 more hours. Here is my favorite one and you can get it in a beautiful rose gold color.

I hope that this article was helpful. Have a great trip!

4 Ways to Make Money With Your Youtube Channel!

George Burns said it best, "Don’t stay in bed unless you can make money in bed."

In this article I am giving you four ways that you can make money using your YouTube platform. Making money on YouTube should never be your main focus when creating content, but it's always pleasant to be able to generate an income doing something you truly enjoy.

1.The AdSense revenue:
This should not be your only source of revenue, because it might have worked before for the Youtuber of 2010, but now it is definitely more like an rumor, or a tell. Not a lot of money can be made with AdSense revenue except if you have a lot of views. But you should not neglect any type of income. Especially if you are considering doing this as a full time job.

Please note that  a Youtube content creators can only monetize their videos when they've hit 10, 000 lifetime views on their channel.

How does AdSense work?

So basically, whenever one of your viewers clicks on an ad on your YouTube channel or on one of your videos, the advertisement is charged and you get a portion of the money that is paid google.

How to increase this amount.
The beauty about AdSense is once its activated on your channel, you don’t have to do anything else besides what you're already passionate about. Create content, engage with your audience and have fun. The more videos you have the better, the more engagement you have, the more money you make.

What sucks about AdSense
You can’t really gage how much you will make per month, it’s a life of uncertainty. Oh well it’s more fun this way... Isn't it?

2.Affiliate links
Affiliation tools allow you to create product links to share with your fans across your social media platforms to generate revenue anywhere where you could place a link. So it is not only restricted to YouTube. You can also use them on blogs, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, YOU NAME IT!…  You can earn commission through the total number of clicks (as usual a couple of pennies) or with a sale when your link was used in order to direct the customer to the website. The sales portion can be very interesting, depending of the commission rates that certain companies offer. Some even offer up to 20%.

My all time favorite affiliation and quite frankly the only one I use is MagicLink. I just think it is a lot easier to manage to only having one to deal with and I really love the layout of the website. You should definitely check it out!

You can also become a direct affiliate with certain companies. This can be an awesome way to get noticed by them also. So go to any website and scroll all the way down to the bottom of their page and there you should find a link letting you become a affiliate partner with them.

How to increase your revenue using affiliate links
If you are genuine about a product, a piece of clothing, or makeup, people will feel and sense your authenticity. With that people will want to buy the same things you are purchasing. Don’t forget to mention that the links are available in your description box, or anywhere else where it could possibly be  available. Then, grow your channel, grow your audience, engage with people, and answer their questions about the different products.

Don’t be fake! Don’t recommend a product just because you want to make money, that’s just.... Non

Don’t do that to your loyal subscribers, even if making money is awesome, your subscribers should always be your main priority.

Anything else to know about affiliate links?
Very important that you mention that your links are affiliate links. Transparency is key. You don't necessarily have to mention it in the video, most people mention it in the description box.

3.Sponsored videos
Sponsored video have got to be the best way to make money on YouTube. The downside? Most viewers HATE sponsored content. Why? Well, because people can feel how not sincere  they are most of the time. They can hear the lies in your voice when you are saying it’s your favorite product. Solution: Don't lie! Voilà

Let’s talk about how it works. Companies reach out to a youtuber to endorse a product. The youtuber get paid pretty easy huh?

What sucks about it?
As usual sponsored opportunities comes with a lot of restriction. You have to say this or mention that and must have the video up by specific deadlines. They have to approve your work and they have the final say on what you can or can't create. So for a content creator as usual it’s not ideal since the best part of being a content creator is the freedom. Plus, as usual more work has to be put into these types videos and the reality is that you typically have less engagement on them.

Don’t: Don’t promote the newest rice cooker if you have a beauty channel.

4. Merchandising
If you have a pretty good following selling merchandise such as t-shirt, prints, mugs , socks or anything you can possibly think of is a good idea. Be sure that your merchandise relates to your brand. Please do something a little more creative than just writing the name of your YouTube channel in a Times Roman font on a white t-shirt and then sell it for 39.00$.

What sucks about merchandising?
Well, you might invest in a bunch of merchandise that doesn’t sell and there’s nothing more horrible than being stuck with a closet full of unsold items that remind you of your past failures.

I hope this post helps you take you YouTube earnings to the next level. If there are more ways to make money that I did not mention in this article please share it with us down below. Remember you should create content because you truly love doing and only because its a great source of income.

You know it's cold outside when you go outside and it's cold...

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who still tries to convince herself that summer is not done yet and that I can still get away with summer clothes in September. But in reality it's already so cold the milk cows gave icicles.

Ignoring the cold should theoriticaly  make it go away... Right?

I’m writing this right now in my pj's, under my blanket drinking my favourite tea to heal my sore throat. So winter is definitely at our doorstep and I had to realize it the hard way.

Don't get me wrong Fall has its advantages. The beautiful colors of the changing leaves, I can now wear boots without looking like a crazy person. (Yasss!)

I can wrap my body in an over size cozy scarf and drink hot chocolate. I mean, do I really need to  add anything else?

The color of the season is definetly red and not like an accent color no no that was so 2016. (hehe) This year you should wear it as the main, from head to toe if you are bold enough or as the principal piece.

Like this lovely Red Jacket that I picked at the thrift store. I really wanted a beautiful statement jacket and could not find it anywhere.

I really love how heavy this trench coat looks and feels. I also enjoy the details on the shoulders plus  the coat has a flattering feminine shape to it.

This powerful and imposing color is without a doubt, eye catching so if you want to go unnoticed, maybe it's something you will want to stay away from, but I'm encouraging you not to. This season; be Bold!
Don't be scared to wear red. Wear it. Rock it. Own it!
