5 New Restaurants/Coffee Shops in Laval

Here are 5 (relatively) new restaurants or coffee shops that you have to visit at least one time in your life in the Laval area.

Yes! You read that right! I’m talking about the 450. The city that was once only known for the Recreatheque amusement center(rest in peace) and the lack of public transportation. The city of Laval is transforming right before our eyes and the addition of these new restaurants and cafés is something that really excites me and you should be excited you too!

Lov
140 Promenade Du Centropolis, Laval, QC H7T 2Z6

This vegan restaurant is well-known in Montreal for the beautiful minimalist decor and its abundance of greenery designed by Jacinthe Piotte. The fact that they decided to open a new location right in the Centropolis Center is a huge plus. In my humble opinion it looks better than the other two locations in Montreal. Maybe I’m biased, maybe I’m not… I have to say though, the food is a bit on the pricey side but hey I don’t want to stop you from living your best vegan life! You just make sure you enjoy the decor and take a bunch of pictures for all that money you’re about to spend on leaf and potatoes.

Gatto Matto
1950 Rue Claude-Gagné #302, Laval, QC H7N 0E4

Wow, Just wow! Gatto Matto is a dream for all the pink loving instagrammers of the world. Located right next to the Place Bell arena, you will be pleasantly charmed by the gorgeous layout. With flowers covering the walls and pastel colored seats complementing the rest of the café, if your first reflex is not to pick up your phone and take a picture then I’m assuming that your phone is most likely just out of battery. The food is delicious and served at a more than reasonable price. With great food, lovely decor and a wonderful atmosphere, what’s not to love about Gatto Matto.

Miss Wong
1780 Avenue Pierre-Péladeau, Laval, QC H7T 2Z1

If you want to escape Montreal and Laval is still not far away enough for you, then what about China? In all seriousness though, you will be mesmerized by the attention to detail in the decor. I mean it will leave you feeling like you are actually traveling but all for the price of a meal. The reviews are a bit mixed and the menu options, it may not be that extensive for some. However, the service is cordial, very pleasant. The ambiance was great and the taste was to my liking. This restaurant, in my opinion, is an unforgettable experience.

Cacao 70
308-1950 Rue Claude-Gagné, Laval, QC H7N 5H9

Cacao 70 is a franchise but this is the first location in Laval and I absolutely love it! Again, conveniently located right next to the Place Bell arena, this is the perfect spot for that cute Instagram shot. Now, let me warn you though, be ready to overdose on chocolate. The plates are so tasty I mean I can still feel the chocolate and caramel syrup melting on my tongue and don’t even let me get started on strawberry desserts.

Le Ricardo Café
150 Promenade Du Centropolis, Laval, QC H7T 0A3

Created by the renowned Quebec chef Ricardo, this lovely café is modern and minimalist. The service is great and it’s also located at Centropolis. All the meals are inspired by the magazine so this is definitely an experience worth trying. Right next door of the café is the Ricardo Boutique where you can buy kitchen accessories from his “L’art de la table” collection. I would recommend going during the week around 10 or 11 to avoid the crowd. I can guarantee you that you will have a great time whether you are with those closest to you or enjoying peaceful morning alone.

Have you visited any of these restaurants or café recently? If so, what was your experience? Please let me know in the comment section.
